St CERNIN DE LABARDE
Château Colin-Madrigal
Est. 1881
Our family has had the privilege of cultivating our vines since 1881,
passing down the rituals and secrets of winemaking from one generation to the next.
Situated in the South-Western terroir of Périgord, Saint Cernin de Labarde is a stone’s throw from picturesque Bergerac. The Romans were really onto something when they first planted vines here: our soil is chalky, clayey and not very fertile (ideal grape-growing conditions!) while the weather blesses us with humid Aprils, dry and sunny summers, moderately humid Octobers and rainy, replenishing winters.
Life in this quiet corner of France remains slow-paced—a land where simplicity and sharing are celebrated. We like to think we’ve bottled a little of that in our wines. Order your taste of the Périgord HERE.
Grape-to-glass service
As a small winery, we like to keep things personal.
Grape-to-Glass means we go beyond tending to our vines, harvesting the grapes and bottling the wine. Just as important to us is how it gets from our cellars to your doorstep—and ultimately your glass! That’s why, through every stage of your order, you will deal directly with us, the winemakers: Alain, Monique and Colin.
Grapes
We grow Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc.
